Biography of Frank Morse
I moved to San Francisco from the East Coast, fascinated by, and comfortable with, the feel of the city. As a transplant, I have sought to become better acquainted with the history, the geology, and the weather patterns of the area. I also enjoy hiking and skiing and take advantage of the nearby Sierra Nevada. These themes are part of my photography.
Photography allows me to look a little longer at the beauty that often is only glimpsed in passing.
I have been photographing seriously for the past eight years. Starting with landscapes, I have expanded into editorial, documentary, and product photography. I work with various digital and film cameras: SLR, medium format, and view, and with various lighting: available, portable, and studio - depending on the subject.
My work has been published in newspapers, including the Miami Herald, and on commercial web sites. Joint photographic shows in San Francisco include The Grind -2003, Whitney Young Cultural Center- 2004, Cachi Studio- 2005, 169 Steuart Street and Pearls International-2006, Space Gallery-2007, and a.muse Gallery 2008 and 2009.
